01/19/07 - Worship Pastor Position
I am proud to announce that my family and I have recently accepted a position as Worship Pastor of Lakeshore Church in Byram, Mississippi(Just South of Jackson). Although Aaron Odom Ministries will still continue, my concert schedule will reduce to about 8-12 concerts a year. So how did this all come about? This past November I had the opportunity to sing a concert at Lakeshore and began to establish a great relationship with the Pastor David Watson. After meeting with several times my wife and I both felt an incredible connection, and a great level of respect for him and his ministry. He is a man who truly loves God and people. One of the biggest attractions to this pastor was his heart for the unchurched. Another is that he has a healthy understanding of the calling God has on my life for traveling concert ministry. Up until now we have been offered many positions on staff at churches throughout the country, but we clearly see that God is working in and through both this new position at Lakeshore and through Aaron Odom Ministries. This is something that we have prayed for over the past three years and finally, in God's perfect timing he has made a way. Thank you for your continued prayers for us and our ministry. We love you all!

11/10/06 - Lakeshore Church this Sunday
This past Saturday, I flew to Jacksonville and sang at two great churches. Deermeadows Baptist, and Mandarin Baptist. It truly was a joy to have the opportunity. Jacksonville was much bigger than I thought. Other than sitting on a Houston runway for 4 hours on the way back everything went smooth, and even that wasn't too bad. I met some great people on the plane and got caught up on some reading too. The next day, PJ, Ramsey and I drove down to Baton Rouge and I did some recording. It's gonna happen...you just wait and see. Then Thursday, I sang a concert for a Senior's Banquet at Church of the Highlands. This Sunday we'll be at a methodist church in Byram, Mississippi. I've heard great things about this church. They actually go by the name Lakeshore Church. The pastor is David Watson and you can check them out at www.lakeshorecmc.org. Monday, I plan on heading back down to Baton Rouge to begin wrapping up our long awaited CD project. Thanks for tuning in. Keep us in your prayers. -Aaron

08/01/06 - Thank You, First Jackson
This past Sunday, I had the opportunity to sing at First Baptist Church of Jackson, Mississippi. Wow! What a big church! The people were very friendly and PJ and I felt very welcome. Ramsey had just gotten his hair cut and he looked like a little Dutch boy in his crispy green church attire. I saw many people that I knew from my past including Jeff Altman a playmate from the past. My grandparents Louie and Charlotte Odom were there and many people loved on them. They are former members of the church and my grandfather Louie is actually a former Chairman of the Deacons. It meant a lot to me that they were honored from the pulpit by the Minister of Music, Lavon Gray. That guy is a class act. Of course, I came out with my guns slinging. I sang How Great Thou Art and I Bowed On My Knees. Many people were blessed. Praise be to God.

05/05/06 - Bay Vista Baptist Church
Back in December of 2005 I had the opportunity to sing at First Baptist Church of Biloxi for a Katrina Relief Concert. It was an experience that I will never forget. This was with Alicia Williamson, Evidence, and Dauphin Way Baptist Church of Mobile, AL. It was such and encouragement to the people of Biloxi. I am excited to tell you that I will be giving another free concert at Bay Vista Baptist Church (seen in the above picture) in Biloxi on July 16th. This church was hit hard with damage to several of the buildings, flooding and even interior damage. Please pray that this evening would be a big encouragement to these people. I recently heard that this church has met more than 40,000 needs in the area. Thank you to those of you who support us to make this possible.

04/07/06 - New Blogsite
Have you seen my new blogsite? I want you to. If you don't want to see it, then that's fine, but why not? It's www.aaronodom.blogspot.com. What is a blog site? It's just a little more personal than a website. You can post information easier. I can tell you about things better....Give more pictures etc. Check it out and let us know what you think. Much love to you! --Aaron

03/29/06 - Let's cheer up!
This Sunday the 2nd through Wednesday the 5th, I will lead worship and sing for revival services in Florence, Mississippi at Cleary Baptist Church. I am praying that there would be a true receptiveness to the work of the Lord. This week God has really been moving in my life. He’s showing me that I’m putting too much of my hope in what’s to come. There’s nothing wrong with placing hope in what God is going to do down the road, but when our only sense of joy and peace comes from what we might be one day, then we’re not truly in relationship with the Lord. We need to allow the joy of the Lord be our strength right in the middle of our suffering. Yes, Psalms 34:17 says, "The righteous cry, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles." This verse shows us that, yes, God is going to deliver us out of our troubles. Praise God for that! However, he will also comfort us in the midst of them. Check out these verses, Psalm 9:9 - The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed a stronghold in times of trouble. Psalm 46:1-3 - God is our refuge and strength, and ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth will give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Nahum 1:7 - The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him Matthew 11:28 - "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." 2 Corinthians 1:5 - For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. Psalms 23:4-6 Even when I walk through the dark valley of death, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You see God allows us to go through struggles and trials because when we have faith that He's with us and He loves us, He is glorified. Not only is he glorified when we get out of our jam, He is also glorified in the middle of it. Yes, God wants us to have faith that he will carry us through, but we can actually have joy in the midst of our struggles when we remember that He's with us in the present. So, let’s cheer up! God wants to work through us right now, not just one day when we achieve some kind of status or position. God is good all the time! -Aaron Odom

01/21/06 - Hearing from God
Do you believe in prayer? Prayer is something that I am always learning more and more of how important it really is. But what is prayer? It seems like even though I try to communicate my heart to God, I’m still missing something. In my daily walk with the Lord I talk with him on a regular basis. I do consider this prayer, but sometimes I hear God telling me to just stop everything that I am doing and to get somewhere quiet and truly listen. Then, even when I try to do that, I tend to direct my thoughts to him too much just out of religious habit. Of course it’s good to communicate to God, but sometimes I hear him saying, “Be quiet, my son, and maybe you’ll hear something.” Most of you know that my wife and I have a one year old named Ramsey. He is the incredible, edible, boy! However, most always when we go to put Ramsey’s socks on, he cries and screams, wrestles and twists and does some kind of breakdancing from back in the eighties. It’s obvious he’s trying to communicate a message, but in the process he’s not getting mine. It makes it very difficult for me to help him with his socks, much less teach him to put them on. How often is it that we act just like that with our heavenly Father? Our idea of a relationship with God is often something that we are trying to control. However, God wants us to stop trying to control. He is saying, “Be still and know that I am God.” God wants to communicate his heart to us, but sometimes we are still focused on our own wants, needs, and frustrations. Please know that God is still moving throughout the life of Aaron Odom Ministries, Inc. Your prayer and support for us has been incredible. Please pray that God would move in the lives of His people tomorrow night at Parkway Baptist Church in Clinton, MS and next week at Greensboro Baptist Church in Greensboro, AL.

12/04/05 - Katrina Relief Concert
I just wanted to let everyone know that this December 18th I will be part of benefit concert at the First Baptist Church of Biloxi. This will be in conjunction with Dauphin Way Baptist Church of Mobile, AL and recording artist Alicia Williamson. The concert will be for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Please spread the word to any of your friends and family who live near the coast to come out and support this event. For details please visit www.dwbc.org during early December.

10/26/05 - Psalms 150:4
"As many of you know, I have been learning the guitar this past year. Although I will never give up playing keys, learning the guitar has given me some versatility in my worship leading and songwriting. Because of it's simplistic chord structuring and no need for a lot of inversions the guitar gives me more freedom to dwell on the text and less attention to the business of arpeggiations and passing tones. For all of you who might not be musicians, that just means that I think its easier to lead worship from guitar. Especially with faster songs. As a matter of fact, I have lead from the guitar several times in the past few months. Last Wednesday night I was able to lead worship for a youth group in Louisville, Mississippi. God showed up and it was a wonderful experience. Praise be to God! Verse of the day...Psalms 150:4"

04/22/05 - "Endless Possibilities"
Well, I guess I can say now that we are officially moved and in the "getting settled" phase. Jackson is great and we love our new house. PJ is definitely in the nesting mode and Ramsey is entering a giggling phase. He's almost 4 months old now. We also love being near my family who have already been a huge help in our lives. It's great for me to be able to see my little sister Allie grow up, too. Lately, I've been helping out some with the college and young professionals here at Church of the Highlands (www.cothms.org). It's nice to have some relational ministry opportunities once in a while. As for Aaron Odom Ministries, we are now operating in the church's facilities which is an awesome thing. Besides the fact that we can share resources, it also helps us feel more like an extension of the church. I am an advocate of team ministry and believe that para-church ministries should work as best as they can to be under the umbrella of a the church. It has already made an impact on my ministry to be connected in a way that I can be used in the church and I can go to people here on staff for accountability, friendship, and even help with the practical aspects of this ministry. I look forward to the day that I can bring some of our musicians here with me to some of the local churches in the area. The possibilities are endless!!! Thank you to all of those who continue to pray for me and my family. We love you so much!

02/09/05 - Moving to Jackson, MS
Dear Friends, PJ, Ramsey and I are very excited that we will be moving this month to Jackson, Mississippi. As many of you know, my father pastors a wonderful church there called Church of the Highlands(www.church-of-the-highlands.org (CHECK OUT the video on their home page.) God has done much work in our lives here in Louisiana, and we have thoroughly enjoyed the connection at Healing Place Church. We have also established many relationships with other churches in Louisiana. However, we sense God's hand moving us away. A huge thanks to Dino Rizzo, Mike Haman, and all of the people who have shown us love at Healing Place. We will always cherish the friendships that we have made. Sincerely, Aaron Odom

09/14/04 - It's Gonna Be A Boy!
Oh yes! PJ is pregnant and we just found out that it is a boy! Never in my life have I been more excited than when I could see images of my son on the sonogram. She is due on January 2, 2005 and the thought of becoming a father is changing my life! To think of my baby makes me understand so much more about how God loves me. I have never been more frantic in my pursuit to be a great provider for my family. Please pray for us as we anticipate this life changing edition!

08/21/04 - REGISTER TO VOTE!
In the last presidential election, over 100,000,000 Americans didn't show up to vote. Less than 27% of those between the ages of 18-24 even made it to the polls! You can make a difference everyday. On election day, cast your vote! Our nation needs every RIGHTEOUS vote!

06/24/04 - In Transition
We are still getting situated here in St. Amant, LA. We have been here for three weeks now and we are still renovating our new home. Please pray that this will be as stress free as possible. Also pray that we would see clearly the ministry opportunities that God has in store for us here. We love all of you and thank those of you who have helped with the move. Also, we will begin the E-mail newsletter again after we get moved in and have the internet installed. Thanks for being patient with our internet operations.

05/26/04 - Braden River Baptist
As great as the service went with the Imperials on Saturday night, I hear God telling me to write about what happened Sunday night at Braden River Baptist. As of 6:45pm, right before the service, I felt like everything was going great. I felt so prepared and was very prayed up and ready to be an instrument of the Lord. But, when I began to sing the 1st song, it was clear that Satan had planned a sneak attack. He began to whisper words of discouragement and negativity. Earlier in the day, a friend had told me of a demonic possesion of a man in our home church service. They had to take the man who had been foaming at the mouth and shaking about into a back room to pray over him. When they tried to identify the demon by asking for his name he kept replying, "Jesus!" in mockery. The same man had wept before the service and admitted to the fact that he needed to repent and rely soley upon God. In thinking about all of this and hearing the same voice of Satan whispering words of defeat to me, I was in awe of how real this all is. Here I was on the frontline of the battlefield for God, and who better for Satan to attack than someone who wants to be effective for the kingdom. To make a long story short, I literally had to be honest with the audience that I was in the middle of a spiritual battle and that I needed their prayer. Instead of going on with the next song, I went to the piano and played a song called "Freedom Reigns". The lyrics say, "Where the spirit of the Lord is...there is freedom." I felt Satan leave the room when I began the first notes of that song. Thank you to all of the people who attended that night and prayed for me in a time of need. PJ and I love you and are so appreciative of your encouragement.

05/03/04 - Samoset Baptist-Bradenton, FL
Sunday morning began with spiritual battles of course. It never ceases to amaze me how Satan tries to stop what God intends for good. I was feeling very sick to my stomach and not up to par. But, PJ told me that things were going to be O.K. When we went into the sanctuary we met Scott “the soundman”. We could tell right away that he was serving in his specific calling. The sound in the room was phenomenal for such a small church. They had also just bought a beautiful baby grand that had been played by Michael W. Smith, and Jerry Lee Lewis! I finally heard God tell me that everything was going to be O.K. After being introduced to the congregation, I walked onto the stage and felt an immediate sense of peace come over me. I knew the Holy Spirit was in the room, and so I just got out of the way. God really flowed through the music in an awesome way. During the first song, I could see people weeping all around the sanctuary. It was like our Daddy’s love was just filling the place. About midway during the service, God laid it on my heart to speak of a spirit of complacency in the community that was displeasing to Him. He further prompted me to speak of how we should beware of the enemy and his plots to destroy us. Another lie that Satan told me before the service was that I wasn't going to make it vocally. We had just ministered two days before at a coffee house for like two hours and my voice was tired. Not one time did my voice give out and not one time did I ever think that I might not make it. During the last song, I Bowed On My Knees, the entire congregation stood for the whole song and raised their hands in surrender. At the end of the song it was evident that the altar should be opened up. Pastor Roland Davis did so. I couldn't believe how many people were flooding the front. A kid named A.J. came and kneeled down right next to me. As I prayed over him and just talked heart to heart with him, I looked over and PJ was praying over about four or five different women one after another. We were extremely blessed by an outpouring of the Holy Spirit at this sweet, sweet, church.

04/19/04 - Salvation Army-Rockford, IL
It was so awesome to travel with my wife on a plane to Chicago. I guess there's just something exiciting about that. We were greeted by our host family, Ray and Willa Mincemoyer. We were so encouraged by how friendly they were and how happy they were to see us. Some of our bags didn't make it on time so we had to sit around for awhile in Chicago until they arrived. But, it gave us a good chance to get to know Ray and Willa. The next day we went sightseeing around Rockford, and eventually ended up at the Olive Garden. Thank You again guys for feeding us. Later that evening we spent some time with the pastor at his house. Then after a great dinner at the Mincemoyer's we went and did a soundcheck at the church. Finally, on Sunday morning I had the opportunity to lead worship, share my testimony and speak and pray over the congregation. I had never been to a Salvation Army Temple, but the one thing I really liked was the fact that I know that they give to the community. I encouraged them that this was a wonderful thing that Jesus himself did and that God still does through us. Although I felt a wonderful sense of peace and comfort when I was singing and worshipping, I felt equally sure that God was moving in the relationships that were established during the time we there. After the service on sunday we ate lunch at Ray's son-in-law's house and had a great time just taking turns sharing what the Lord has been teaching us. Thanks to the Mincemoyer's and to the Salvation Army temple for inviting us. We were blessed.

04/13/04 - "Moving to Baton Rouge"
After a year of seeking God's direction, PJ and I are excited to announce that we will be moving to Baton Rouge, LA on June 1, 2004. After talking it over with the leadership in our church, we were introduced to a talented producer who has many professional studio musicians at his hands. After we visited him and spent some quality time together we were both certain of God's call. In addition, the studio is under the same roof of PJ's former church called the Healing Place Church. We are very excited that we will be part of a church that has even been praised by the President Bush in his State of the Union Address for their service to the community. As a matter of fact, they have even been a huge factor in helping plant the same church that we currently attend which after a year and a half is averaging close to 400 people. Although, I am so excited to finally begin work on a new CD project, it is even better news that this opportunity has arisen in the same city where both of us have family. Please keep us in your prayers as we are praying for a specific place to live,an efficient and safe move, and the right ministry opportunities in that area. For those of you who may be sad to see us leave Florida, please know that we pray that God would have us return to visit and even give concerts in this area again in the near future. We love all of you so much.

03/08/04 - New Hope-Parrish, FL
I must say that seeing the ministry of New Hope Baptist Church of Parrish,FL this past Sunday was a huge blessing to me and PJ. Pastor Paul Harschbarger seems to be not just a good preacher but a good leader as well. I've heard someone say before that we have too many shepherds that don't smell like the sheep. Not so with Pastor Paul. He is a man who cares about his community and spends time dealing with their real life problems. This is so good because I believe that we have plenty of good preachers out there, but not enough good leaders. As PJ and I travel, we have the opportunity to see many different churches. The churches that are thriving are the ones who love their community as Christ loved the church. Thank you Pastor Paul and New Hope Baptist church for enriching me and my wife.

02/25/04 - Greater Grace-Pinellas Park,FL
What a wonderful time my wife and I had at Greater Grace Church in St. Petersburg. It was a blessing to be together as a team in ministry. PJ laid hands on me before I sang and prayed that God would minister greatly. He did just that. Our testimony of what we have been through over the past year was reinforced by the choice of repertoire. It was amazing to see how the pastor's sermon flowed right into the last song without even knowing what I had chosen. We were blessed greatly at Greater Grace. They also invited us back for the Mission America Pastor's Conference in March which we obviously accepted. Thank you Lord for the people of Greater Grace Church. "I pray right now that the word that was spoken will encourage and equip them for futhering your kingdom. Amen".

01/26/04 - "Gold"
After five months of not singing I am thrilled to be able to say that I feel God giving me the "Go" again. My wife and I have had an awesome past few months in our marriage and we feel as if we are over a bump in the road. We have been getting grounded in our home church (Bayside Community Church) where we serve simply as laypersons. I coach the singers and occasionally sing backup when someone is sick or out of town. Never in a million years did I think that we would have to take a break from full time ministry, but we already see some of the motives of the Lord. I am encouraged by my favorite Christian Artist Steve Green and his wife who had to take a break from their ministry years ago. The Director of Music for the Florida Baptist Convention told me that after he returned to ministry his music was much more powerful and his compassion for people who are frustrated with life had grown. In addition, as I look back at the past year of our lives I also think of Job. Here is a man who is caught in the middle of the cosmic battle of God vs. Satan. Satan hopes that by taking everything away from Job he would surely turn his back on God. Job stood strong as he said, "But He knoweth the way that I take: when He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold" (Job 23:10). Here is an upright man who is so dejected that even his closest friends assume that he is living in sin. Not so. Just like Job, my wife and i make mistakes everyday, but we have not turned our backs on God. This is because we know that it is only He that could get us through a dark season such as this. Of course, we have been deeply humbled, but we have also been greatly encouraged by the Savior who flows through us. We are members of the royal family of God and we spit in the face of The Deceiver who wants to destroy us. It is only God who knows the way that we take and when this is all over we will come out as gold!

10/14/03 - "Time Out”
“Hello, and welcome to our website. Please feel free to browse around and see what God has done in the past year and a half in the life of Aaron Odom Ministries. However, I must inform you that my wife and I have recently decided to take a “time out” from full-time ministry. God is teaching us some things right now that require us to take a step back and check our priorities. We believe that God has asked us this in order for us to experience a spiritual renewal in our personal lives as well as in our marriage. God has really showed us the importance of getting grounded in our home-based church where we have received great counsel, accountability, and love. This has been a difficult decision to make as the ministry seemed to be heading in such an upward direction, but we know that God will honor this step of faith. Also, we have to trust that if Aaron Odom Ministries is truly a God thing, He will restore it in a way that is so pleasing to Him. Be assured that we still love the Lord with all of our hearts and hope that He will lead us back to full-time service as soon as possible. In the mean time, both of us are working elsewhere in order to make ends meet. Of course, your prayers are so appreciated as we earnestly seek His face. Lastly, please know that we sincerely love each and every one of you and are so thankful for your love for us. Sincerely, Aaron and PJ

07/09/03 - "Preacher with a Green Tie"
Once upon a time...long, long ago, there was a skinny, blonde haired boy, whose hero was a Southern Baptist Preacher that just so happened to be his father. Everytime that little boy was asked what he wanted to be when he grew up, he would exclaim emphatically, "I want to be a preacher with a green tie!" Amazingly, that same little boy will have that opportunity this July 20th at Clearview Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, FL. Oh, Yes! Aaron Odom will be leading worship for the first half of the service and sharing his own thoughts on a passage of scripture for the second half. I wonder what color tie he will wear....better go to Clearview on the 20th to find out!

06/16/03 - The Booth Brother's
At the end of last year, one of Southern Gospels greatest songwriters ever, Mosie Lister, introduced Aaron to Spring Hill recording artists, The Booth Brother's, and then to Bill Gaither himself. After singing on a Gaither Homecoming Concert in Tampa, FL, a relationship with The Booth Brothers has proven to be extremely helpful for Aaron Odom Ministries. In fact they have recently asked him to sing on several out of state concerts this Fall. Aaron will be appearing with The Booth Brother's in Texas, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, New York, and Michigan.

06/01/03 - Aaron Sings For Church Plant
Sunday, June 1, Aaron sang for Palm City Christian Church, a brand new independant church in Palm City, FL.
